National Science Day is celebrated all over India on 28 February to spot the invention of the phenomenon of Raman Effect by CV Raman in 1928 and for his outstanding discovery in 1930 he got Nobel Prize which was the first Nobel Prize for India in the field of Science. Science holds great importance in our day to day lives. This day gives us an opportunity to thank the entire scientist for their remarkable contribution and their dedication in the field of science. On this day, scientists and science enthusiasts come together as programmers and held to bring the scientific community closer. Educational institutes also hold science fairs and science researchers get a chance to share their latest work. Every year National Science Day is celebrated with a theme that spreads the message about the importance of science.
This year Department of Science and Technology decided the theme of National Science Day 2020 is “Women in Science”. This theme is dedicated to women involved in science and also to encourage them to participate more in a science activity. The whole country celebrates National Science day as a science festival by organizing workshops, exhibitions, live projects, debates, quiz competitions, seminars, etc. Its major intend is to offer scientific temper in the minds of people of all age groups. A huge number of people assemble and focus on National Science Day celebrations with enormous passion and take part in the activities like cross-examine competition, debates, projects etc.
